style-reviewer

Review a code diff for style, consistency, and hygiene — does new code match the conventions of the code around it, are commit messages clean, and is there leftover debug/TODO/console output. It infers conventions from the surrounding code (not a hardcoded style guide) and reports only high-confidence findings.

Returns content — does not write files

Like all but two of the agents, this one returns its output to the skill that spawned it, and the skill writes the file. It holds no write tools, so it cannot modify the repo even if asked to.

When it runs

The user wants a consistency and commit-hygiene check before pushing.

review my changes for style and check my commit messages

/review-style (or the pre-push-review umbrella) spawns this agent with the cleared diff snapshot and the unpushed commit messages.

What it returns

  • Dimension verdict: usually PASS or WARN. Reserve BLOCK for things that truly shouldn't ship — a committed merge-conflict marker, or a .only that silently disables the rest of the test suite.
  • Each finding: Severity (WARNING/NIT, rarely BLOCKER), Location (file:line or the commit hash for message issues), What (one sentence), Fix (concrete).

Spawned by

Derived, not declared

No agent file records which skills call it — this list is recovered from the skill definitions at build time, so it cannot go stale.

See the /pre-push-review pipeline for where this fits in the whole run.
