/dead-code-finder

Review class · scan

Advise only. Reads changes, reports findings, and never writes a file or commits. Shared rules: CONVENTIONS.md.

Detects the repo's own dead-code tooling at runtime (ts-prune/knip, vulture, deadcode, cargo-udeps) and degrades to a manual export-vs-import cross-reference; reports candidates with a confidence level and never deletes anything. Defaults to your uncommitted/unpushed changes to keep runs cheap; --full scans the whole tree.

What it needs, and what happens without it

Every tool is detected at runtime — none is installed for you.

Tool Without it
knip / ts-prune / vulture / deadcode / cargo-udeps a grep-based export-vs-import cross-reference, marked lower-confidence

Agents it spawns

  • dead-code-finder — Classify dead-code candidates in a repo — unused exports, unreachable functions, orphan files, unused…

The procedure

The executable steps live in the skill file itself and are deliberately not reproduced here: they are instructions to the model at runtime, not documentation.
